SMARTS Recognised as Australia’s Top ICT exporter

SMARTS, the global leader in securities market surveillance systems and services has been recognised as one of Australia’s leading exporters. SMARTS was honoured with the information and communication technology (ICT) category at Australia’s premier business awards, the 2009 Australian Export Awards.

SMARTS has forged a global leadership position in the niche of market surveillance and we are delighted to be recognised for our achievements,” said Dr Andreas Furche, SMARTS Group CEO.

SMARTS Group is a private Australian company set up in 1994 with the aim of building and deploying technology and services to enhance the integrity of world securities markets. Today it is the unrivalled market leader with 40 national exchange and regulatory customers as well as 50+ broking clients from 35 countries. In 2008/09 SMARTS generated approximately AUD25 million in revenue with around 95% derived from export sales.

The Australian Export Awards are co-presented by Austrade and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Now in its 47th year of recognising export excellence, the Awards are one of the longest running and most prestigious and most prestigious business awards in Australia.
